The Eye of the Storm.
As much as I like to say that I hate Winter Quarter because it's so gloomy and dark, this time it actually wasn't so bad. Academically, I felt very on top of things. I was excited to finally be starting on my English Major classes (you don't know how much I missed having assigned reading), and Organic Chemistry Lab - which I was sure was going to be awful and extremely difficult - turned out to be the most stress-relieving part of my week. On top of that, things were heating up at my research internship with SORCE (which I'll go into more detail with my final experiential learning report), and I felt very fulfilled knowing that I was pulling off 18 credits without losing my sanity. My grade in the second quarter of O-Chem was disappointing compared to my stellar grade in the first quarter, but my performance in my English classes made up for it: I was thrilled to know that I had what it took to be an English major.
Yes, I do look fondly back on Winter Quarter. That one epic day of snow was one of the best days of my life. The snowball fights, driving people across the Quad in a stray shopping cart, and the Nectar of the Gods that is piping hot Mulled Cider from the District Market afterwards made for a truly wonderful day. Of course, it wouldn't have been as special if I hadn't shared it with some of the great people who I met on my floor. The greatest thing to come of this quarter was making some best friends.

And just like last year, I was "forced" to dress up as Santa.
